Motorola intros EM35 phone

Motorola announced on Tuesday it will soon add the MOTOROKR EM35 handset to its range, which will have an emphasis on superior audio performance during phone calls through Motorola's now-established CrystalTalk noise reduction technology. Otherwise, the quad-band GSM slider phone sports a 2.2-inch, 240x320 resolution display and a full complement of music controls, including a scroll wheel. The handset has a built-in FM tuner, which can be listened to over the integrated dual speakers or wired 3.5mm or Bluetooth headsets or headphones.

Songs in virtually every format can be stored on the EM35's 110MB of built-in memory that can be expanded by as much as 32GB via a microSDHC memory card slot. The handset is compatible with Windows Media Player 11, allowing users to upload tracks to the phone via the program. A 3.1-megapixel camera with a zoom function captures videos or still photos.

The EM35 will also connect to the web and has support for popular instant messenger mobile programs, a full web browser and third-party widgets that deliver anything from weather updates to stock quotes. The company's MOTOMUSIC player app enables users to listen to music and browse an online music store at the same time. The FM radio carries RDS support and will identify songs, artists and genres.

The EM35 handset will launch before year's end, though pricing information has not been announced. Its frequency support potentially leads to a launch with either AT&T or T-Mobile in the US.
