Total Media Converter reaches Macs

Aimersoft has released the first Mac version of Total Media Converter, its media formatting suite. The software is mainly geared towards converting audio and video between different filetypes; special attention is paid to unusual video formats, such as the VOB files associated with DVDs, and the increasingly common MKV container. Some supported audio formats include MP3, M4A, AC3 and MKA.

Users can also tweak formatting for devices such as iPhones, iPods and the Apple TV, and apply watermarking as desired. The software further incorporates basic editing options, allowing users to merge videos, trim footage off the beginning or end of a clip, and adjust elements like brightness and saturation. Cropping can be used to strip unintentional borders.

The software is available in Intel or PowerPC versions, and costs $49.
