iPhone apps: StretchZ, Fit Phone, iStayFit

iPump Yoga, A Sound Sleep


  • StretchZ ($2) gives users access to the stretching routines included in MacBreakZ Personal Ergonomic Assistant directly on their iPhone or iPod touch. This allows users to keep track of a regular stretching routine in an environment where software can't be installed on a work computer. A regular routine helps relieve muscular tension, neck, shoulder and backache and and also reduces mouse and keyboard-related injuries, eye strain and tension headaches.

  • Fit Phone ($5) is a workout log for the iPhone or iPod touch that allows users to keep track of their daily workouts. Users can set up custom workouts by setting a name and date then adding the exercises they plan to perform. After the workout users can then enter the information about the weight and number of reps and time spent performing each exercise.

  • iStayFit ($4) allows users to create workout programs by picking from a predefined set of over 130 different exercises. Each exercise includes descriptions and pictures of how to perform the exercise properly to help users maximize the effectiveness of their workout.

  • iPump Yoga ($4) gives users access to a yoga trainer wherever they are. Users are presented with pictures, videos and descriptions designed to help them go through a yoga workout. The app includes 61 yoga images and audio coaching instructions to help users follow proper form in their workouts. The app has also been designed with three progressive levels to help beginners get started.

  • A Sound Sleep gives users a selection of ambient sounds, loops and smooth songs which are good for background noise while trying to sleep or relax. Users can select from two different modes, preset or custom. The preset mode allows users to play longer single tracks at a time with control of the master volume. Custom mode gives users control over shorter looping tracks for creating their own relaxing track.
