4D v11 SQL Release 3
4D has released the latest version of its integrated software platform, 4D v11 SQL Release 3. The update is optimized to take advantage of multi-core processor architecture capabilities. The company claims significant speed gains and scalability across a variable number of processor cores. A new SQL connection protocol is now available, allowing applications to communicate without ODBC for further improvements of response time. SQL schemas can be configured with tighter control of access rights to the server.
The company utilizes a new compression algorithm for SOAP services that work between the 4D applications. A new Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) engine has been added, featuring over 100 high-level commands for dynamic creation and manipulation of charts and graphics. The SVG component allows richer user interface designs, without degradation of quality. 4D v11 SQL Release 3 requires Windows XP/Vista or Mac OS 10.4.11 or higher, and is now available.
