LAUBlab has released version 1.1 of VRAYforC4D, a major update to the Vray renderer for 3D animation suite Maxon Cinima4D. The update adds over 75 features, enhancements and fixes. It also upgrades the render core to version 1.6 (from Chaosgroup), and has optimizations most areas of the engine. The Vray engine offers accurate light and surface quality rendering, and supports user-defined values, photometric light intensities and IES light data. It also offers control to alter reality for special lighting effects.
VRAYforCD4 also offers support for global illumination (GI), with lightcache GI and irradiance maps, and the software can save a GI solutions for multiple renders. The Vray BRDF (Bidirectional reflectance distribution function) supports native shading in Cinima4D. VrayforC4D also offers support for unlimited rendernodes for using multiple CPUs, including support for renderfarms.
The new version is optimized for use with Maxon Cinima4D v11, and runs on Mac OS X 10.4.1 or higher, with 64bit support on Mac OS X 10.5.3 or higher. It costs €790 (about $1000).
