CyberPower Core i7 PC
Custom PC and notebook system maker CyberPower on Monday unveiled its newest and fastest gaming PC, the Black Pearl, which sports Intel's new Core i7 processor, the 3.2GHz 965 Extreme Edition CPU, along with 12GB of RAM. For video processing, there is a pair of ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 PCI-Express cards, each with 2GB of dedicated video memory and two graphics chips.
The new Intel X58 chipset will support NVIDIA's three-way SLI and ATI CrossFireX technologies, along with triple-channel DDR3/1600 SATA RAID with eSATA and Dual GbLAN, USB 2.0, FireWire and 7.1-channel audio support.
To make the most of the high-end specs, the front side bus was replaced with QuickPath Interconnect for high-speed communication between components. Meantime, Turbo Boost technology turns off unused processor cores and uses active cores more efficiently, while Overspeed Protection will monitor voltages and limit maximum power to 130 watts.
The included hard disk drives are two 300GB, 10,000RPM SATA II units from Western Digital. There is also a 1TB, SATA II drive included. A Sony Optiarc BR-5100S 2X Blu-Ray Player comes installed in the Cooler Master ATC S 840 case.
The CyberPower Black Pearl is available now, priced at $3,999.
