Apps: A Better Finder Attributes, Password Repository

  • A Better Finder Attributes 4.8 ($15) gives users access to attributes that are not regularly available from the Finder. Users can edit the files modification and creation date and time, allowing users to set pictures dates and times to those of when the picture was taken. Version 4.8 now allows the removal of file create and modification dates so that they display as "--" in the Finder. The new version also features improved preview and error handling.   • Password Repository 2.5.1 ($25) allows users to save and manage all of their passwords inside an encrypted document. The information is all stored within a table that can be sorted. Passwords can also be labeled with custom sets of colors to help users sort out related passwords. The update has fixed a bug in the initial password insertion dialog along with a bug that caused a document to be set as modified when only searching in it. [Download - 0.97MB]

  • CheckUp 1.2.1 ($29) is a system monitor that displays information on the usage of CPU, memory, disk drives and network adapters. Detailed information about all the running processes can be viewed and these can be paused or terminated at any time. CheckUp also allows users to set up notifications to go off when certain requirements are met, such as when a hard drive seems to have a hardware failure, or resources exceed a certain value. The update has added support for the new MacBook and MacBook Pro as well as fixed some firewall related issues. [Download - 16.7MB]

  • Giftory 3.0 (free) is a simple application designed for keeping track of gifts, both given and received, among a group for any number of occasions. Users can set up the group of people to track and add gifts to the database as they are given. Tags can also be added to the gifts to record details such as cost, occasion, who it was given to and so on. The 3.0 update has added budgeting, integrated online shopping with Amazon, eBay and Yahoo Shopping as well as support for creating wish lists. [Download - 40MB]

  • PDFpen 4.0.2 ($50) gives users tools for adding text, images or signatures to PDF files. Text in the original PDF can be be replaced with editable text blocks, images can be moved, resized or deleted and pages can be re-ordered or removed. The update has added Bates numbering, which is a standard widely used for legal documents. Various other enhancements and fixes have also been added, including a keyboard command to force OCR (Optical Character Recognition) of an entire document. [Download - 12MB]
