Pixelmator 1.3 released
Pixelmator has released Pixelmator 1.3, an update to its image editor that features performance improvements and adds click-and-drag capabilities to the magic wand, paint bucket and magic eraser tool. Hue and Saturation, replace color and colorize tools are also upgraded. The software makes use of graphics cards, and v1.3 improves the utilization of Core Image and Open GL, especially on larger images.
Color wheel tools have been added to the hue and saturation and colorize tools to give instant previews of color effects. Version 1.3 also adds improvements to the type tool, stroke and action tooltips features along with minor interface and compatibility enhancements. The Smart Palette Hide feature now makes unused pallets dissolve temporarily when the user is focused on a filter or adjustment tool.
The image editor features a full pallet of drawing, painting and retouching tools and supports layering effects, all while being CPU-aware. It also supports direct capture from iSight cameras. Pixelmator 1.3 requires Mac OS X 10.4.9 or higher and recommends a core-image supported graphics card. Some of its features require Mac OS X 10.5 or higher and iLife. It is now available for download for $60.

"all while being CPU-aware" - I would really hope so, it would be a miracle that software can run otherwise..
