Peak Express 6 audio app
Berkley Integrated Audio Software (BIAS) has released the latest version of its audio editing software, Peak Express 6. The update features integration with the company's iProRecorder app for the iPhone and iPod touch. Users can transfer recordings from their mobile devices directly into Peak Express via WiFi. The program can also be used to import, record, edit, and process audio files. In addition to standard functions, the software also offers controls for compression, normalization, sample rate conversion, gain, and fades.
A variety of Audio Units and VST effects plug-ins are provided, offering tools for tone control, reverb, and delay. For vinyl digitization, a SoundSoap function can be used for noise reduction or removal of clicks and crackles. Content can also be taken directly from CDs, with an option to just import portions. Up to 10 live playback events can be triggered using assigned keyboard number keys.
The software can read and write MP2, MP3, AAC, AIFF, WAV, SDII, QT, JAM, and FLAC formats, with 24-bit/48KHz signal resolution. Finished projects, such as audio tracks or Podcasts, can be sent directly into iTunes. In addition, users can select whether to send the file uncompressed or encoded, with support for metadata and ID3 tag editing.
Peak Express 6 for Mac is available from the company for $40.
