One thing the really helped Obama, besides his supreme intellect, is that he used technology while the Mccain "campaign" always played catch up with things like text messaging, internet utilization, etc. this is no surprise that Obama is a mac head-to-be. No matter what computer he uses though, he will be AWESOME

Oh, and on the bail-out, it would seem in a news flash late this morning that "some" (read about all) Democrats voted for the bail out. Here in my state, only ONE of my Congressmen (that covers the House and Senate) voted for that heaping pile of a bill. So, again, we got the message all right. Strange how the dems have the majority and still nothing is their responsibility.

Won the election or "bought" the election? In any event, the use of the word OVERWHELMINGLY is misused. You want to see an OVERWHELMING election please see http://uselectionatlas.org/RESULTS/ this coverage map where ONLY ONE state an opposing candidate wins, as in the 1972 Presidential election where Republican Nixon OVERWHEMINGLY won over Democratic McGovern who only won one state. 60.67% versus the 37.52% of the popular vote and 520 versus 17 electoral votes and in the 1984 election where Republican Ronald Reagan OVERWHELMINGLY won the presidency against Democratic Walter Mondale. Or the term that was batted around - "LANDSLIDE"! 58.77% of the popular vote then versus 52.50% in Obama's election. 525 Electoral votes then versus 364 in Obama's election. So OVERWHEMINGLY a win for Obama is FAR FETCHED! You say you know Obama, what were his writing when "specializing" in Internation Relations when majoring Political Science at Columbia?

Yes, Obama's victory is overwhelming, by definition, regardless of what happened last century.

For the record, FDR posted the largest MARGIN of victory since Republicans and Democrats have been running against each other, in 1936, beating Alf Landon 523 to 8 in the Electoral College.

The Electoral College currently favors Republicans, as there are a number of states that seem automatically to vote Republican in recent years, while only the District of Columbia can be counted on to vote automatically Democratic. Specifically, ten states accounting for 62 electoral votes have voted Republican in every election since 1964 (Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Utah, Virginia, and Wyoming).
