Toast 9.0.4 update ships
Roxio has updated Toast 9.0.4, fixing sync issues, errors and TiVo problems. The CD/DVD/Blu-ray burning software has resolved multiple audio and video sync issues with MPEG video files, and fixed video-related -39 errors, along with compatibility repairs. It features better detection of AVCHD volumes, and repairs an issue with cutting TiVo recordings. The Streamer component has also been upgraded to 1.0.4, resolving an issue where video lists would not update correctly.
Toast allows users to burn data volumes for both Mac and PC, and can burn home movies to DVD and Blu-ray. Users can also transfer TiVo content to their computers, and burn the files to DVD via Toast's TiVo transfer. The suite includes CD Spin Doctor for importing and working with audio files, and Streamer, an application that allows users to watch their video collection across the Internet on another computer or Wi-Fi-connected iPhone or iPod touch.
Toast 9.0.4 is available for $100, in some cases with a $20 mail-in upgrade rebate. The software requires Mac OS X 10.4, QuickTime 7.0 and a disc-burner.

Update helps my hd pvr
This Toast update was long overdue! The timing for me couldn't have been better. I recently purchased a Hauppauge hd pvr 1212 to use as a capture box for my iMac (Bootcamp/WXP unfortunately). The Arcsoft TME s/w that came with the capture box doesn't yet allow video .TS files to be converted with 5.1 audio. I was able to use Toast 9.0.4 to convert TS to m2ts files with 5.1 audio that I can play on my iMac and PS3. Also I am now able to transfer, edit and capture TiVo recordings "properly" .... at last! I overcome the TiVo res restriction in Toast file convert by converting to blu-ray disc image instead and then pulling out the m2ts file :-)
