MacBooks work with existing Kensington locks

Kensington on Friday issued a correction notice regarding a story posted earlier on MacNN, clarifying that its laptop locks are "100% compatible" with the new MacBooks introduced in October. Kensington clarifies that Apple has constructed the new laptops' lock port to the former company's specifications, which are available to computer manufacturers. In addition to confirmation of compatibility, Kensington backs up the claim by saying it has thoroughly tested the two products in conjunction.

"As always, Kensington recommends consumers protect their investment in the hardware they purchase and the data contained on that hardware. The simplest way to provide protection is with a Kensington MicroSaver Notebook Lock," writes Rob Humphrey, director of Kensington's security business.
