Toshiba intros projector

Toshiba's Digital Products Division on Tuesday said the first voice-guided projector in the world is now available for purchase, with the release of its TLP-X200U wireless 3LCD projector. The voice guidance function will notify users of the projector's system status, including power status, lamp life, air filter checks and cooling fan status. The TLP-X200U has 1024x768 resolution along with a 600:1 contrast ratio, while its brightness is rated at 3,000 ANSI lumens.

For connecting to wireless networks, a b/g Wi-Fi module is integrated. The device also has compatibility with Windows Vista networks and Vista Ultimate's Meeting Space. Other features include a blackboard function that can adjust for display surfaces other than white, a closed captioning system and the capability to connect up to four projectors to throw up multiple screens in large venues. Vertical keystone correction corrects for set-up angles up to 45 degrees off center from the display surface.

For security, a password protection system is standard fare, along with a key-lock. Connections include a USB port, allowing for the connection of flash drives and simple PC-free presentations, while video sources can be connected via an HDMI port, VGA connection, component, composite and S-video inputs as well as a RJ45 jack.

Currently available on Toshiba's web store and through dealers, the TL-PX200U is priced at $1,739.
