Komodo IDE 5.0 updates interface, control systems

ActiveState has released Komodo IDE 5.0, adding more SCC systems and upgrading its codebase. The company has added support for Git, Mercurial (hg) and Bazaar control systems, allowing users to share code across all three plus Subversion, Perforce and CVS systems. It also adds code formatting, and an SCC checkout interface for working on shared repositories. Version 5.0 is now built on the Mozilla 1.9 codebase, the same underpinnings of Firefox 3, and Python 2.6, both of which are said to aid in speed, stability and a visual appearance more blended with Mac OS X.

Komodo IDE 5.0 also adds improved tabs and sidebars, and now supports multiple top-level windows. Over 30 bugfixes are incorporated. Komodo IDE currently costs $250, a limited price until December 23rd, when the regular price of $300 takes effect. Mac OS X 10.3 or later is required.
