iPhone apps: Edgewise, Memento, ACTSudoku

Edgewise ($2) is a solitaire card game that is played with a standard 52 card deck. The object is to arrange all the face cards around the edges of the playing field. Each game takes only a few minutes meaning the game is great for passing time waiting in line or for a call.

Memento ($3) allows users to create and send e-cards right on their iPhone or iPod touch. Users can pick from one of 14 built in templates and then add photos or personalized text, then send the card in an email which is compatible with most major email clients.

ACTSudoku ($2) promises a virtually unlimited number of sudoku puzzles to be solved using its board generator. Users will have a choice of three difficulty levels each that feature puzzles solvable using only logic, no guessing is required. Users will also be offered hints and both positive and negative markers for working puzzles out logically.

Fingerspell ($1) is an application designed to provide users with a way of learning the American Sign Language alphabet. Fingerspell offers three different ways to learn, Quick Reference, Flash Cards and Word Play. Quick Reference lets uses select specific signs and then view how they are completed. Flash Cards shows signs in a random order giving users the opportunity to call upon their memory. Word Play lets uses enter a word and then watch as it is signed.

160,000 Recipes - Big Oven (free) gives uses access to a large cooking archive where recipes can be posted or found. Recipes can be searched by a specific title, by keywords or by a list of ingredients.
