New MacBook Air arriving, unboxing photos
Apple's recently upgraded MacBook Air is now arriving at customers' doorstops, a week earlier than originally promised. One reader has sent in unboxing photos of the notebook, showing new packaging, a new video out port and two disks, one featuring the Mac OS and one full of applications.
The new MacBook Air features an improved Graphics card, the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, providing up to a 4x performance boost over the original MacBook Air. It now features a Mini Display Port, replacing the Mini DVI port, a new 1066MHz frontside bus, additional L2 cache (6MB total), and 2GB of faster DDR3 RAM.
The MacBook Air is available in two configurations, the 1.6GHz with a 120GB SATA hard drive is $1800, while the 1.86GHz model, with a 128GB solid-state drive is $2500. Ship times for new orders are listed a three-to-five business days.

alright!
The all important 'unbox' photos of a mild computer upgrade!
Not buttonless?
How come the MacBook Air is still using a physical button for the track pad button? MacBook and MacBook Pro have gone buttonless!
Re: buttonless
Yeah, I noticed that today at Best Buy. Probably because it would require a new production run rather than just updating the current line with some minor internal updates that the Air got. Same reason it has the aluminum border on the screen.
But the Air looks a whole lot better than the MB/MBP with its butt-ugly black border and buttons and aluminum finish. Man, now that looks like a color scheme Dell or HP would do.
