Apple details MobileMe fixes in "Late Sept Update"
Saying that it is "always working" to improve MobileMe, the company delivered updates to the server-side, or "cloud"-based, service without any interaction by users of the service.
"[T]he MobileMe team can make improvements and push updates to MobileMe without any action being required of MobileMe customers. Since server-side updates are a bit more innocuous than a standard software update to Mac OS X or Microsoft Windows, it's easy not to notice that updates are occurring," the knowledge base article outlined. "Usually the only hint of these updates is that things just 'work better.'"
The company last notified users about updates to MobileMe in early August when it sent an email acknowledging that the launch was "not its finest hour" and that it still had many more improvements to make. After mail outages (and data loss) and persistent/reoccurring issues following its launch, Apple CEO Steve Jobs apologized and finally offered every MobileMe subscriber a free 60-day extension (in addition to the one month extension most subscribers already received). The last status update showed that last week Apple resolved a mail outage that affected about 6 percent of its users.
Specifically, Apple said the "Late Sept Update" brought a number improvements to MobileMe mail, including resolution of issues when attempting to Reply All to some messages, using Keyboard Shortcuts, and properly removing Drafts after being sent. Apple also touted improved performance in Internet Explorer 7, with page titles and Junk Mail filtering, and when first logging into MobileMe Mail. Apple also said it has created a "loading" graphic to indicate that messages are still being loaded instead of a blank page.
The company has also taken steps to improve the accuracy of the MobileMe data transfer details and also addresses an inaccuracy of used storage in a Group iDisk. It also improves storage allocation menu for family pack sub-accounts and fully logs out users when users click "Logout" from.
The update also addresses a number of Calendar issues, including improved calendar performance with reoccurring events, better International time zone handling, and improved performance in Firefox 3 when switching views. In addition, it brings offers better performance with a large number of To Do items and improves reliability when first loading MobileMe Calendar
Apple also noted that it has now re-enabled the ability to export vCards from MobileMe contacts.

Better but not good
I probably will buy the service and give a try. But until now I am very disappointed with the service MobileMe. On my work in a windows PC, the MobileMe just does not sync with my office Outlook, and does not work through a Proxy network of my office. Shame!!! Google Sync works perfect. And is free... So if I will pay a service I want it better than the ones that are free.
I really like that Apple take a little more attention to the customer needs.
I also like to see some service for Linux, since I work with Linux Ubuntu mostly and Windows at work for use Outlook. The only place I could say MobileMe works well is when I use it in my home but there I have the Macbook PRO with OS X 10.5. So for me MobileMe will be GOOD when they work with all this compatibilities issues.
Thank you for your attention!

MobileMe does work well with Outlook. However, OUTLOOK is a bug infested piece of shit software and any issues you have are more likely than not due to the Outlook/Windows fiasco. I have seen this more than once.
Just get a Mac; make your life easier. No one needs windoze anymore..no one. Pure waste of money.

Just get a mac?
Do you actually have a real job somewhere? Most companies won't let you just pick your machine. My company not only uses windows (ick), but they have locked the network down to the point where we can't see ANY personal email sites anymore, including MobileMe or Google.
I use MobileMe and have no problems at home, but if Apple is going to "cloud" computing, it needs to expand support to many platforms. That being said, do you really want your home calendars/info on your work Outlook? You can still see it through the web interface (if you company isn't blocking that is). I kind of like the separation of home/work stuff as long as I can get to everything.

No, the problem isn't with Outlook and Microsoft, its the fact that MobileMe won't sync Exchange data via Outlook. You can hook up the exchange data with the iPhone, but when you sync via Outlook, it just takes and adds the stuff in "Personal Folders", not the Exchange folder.

I just would like to get the feeling they could fix the freakin' "inconsistent data" error that continues to happen. I clear my computers, re-upload, and all is good for a couple of weeks, then "inconsistent data" pops up again.
