One-day CrossOver giveaway
As a result of a promise if gas prices fell to $2.79 in the Twin Cities, developer CodeWeavers says it is giving away free licenses of CrossOver, its Windows virtualization software for the Mac. The software places Windows apps into virtual containers called "bottles," which lets users run the apps without having to load Windows separately or as a complete virtual machine. Under the terms of the giveaway, people visiting the CodeWeavers site between 12AM on October 28th and 12AM on October 29th can pick up a special serial code entitling them to one free copy of CrossOver.
The company says that more giveaways are possible should more objectives be met in its "Great American Lame Duck Presidential Challenge." Among others, these include the arrest of Osama bin Laden, bringing the price of a gallon of milk to $3.50, creating at least one net job before 2009, and dropping the median home price to January 1st levels.

$3.50 a gallon?

Don't get too excited there, have you also noted how much the buying power of your Dollar has dropped? The Fed is flooding the market with "new" money to pay for this Bailout and it is already causing double digit inflation. The only reason gas is dropping, is because it was oil derivatives that were being used to back up the bad investments in real estate. Now that the real estate market has gone bust, the market for those hedging tools has also gone bust, reducing the competition to push up oil prices. It's to be expected that oil prices would fall.
That doesn't mean we aren't getting reamed elsewhere. The Dollar is so devalued by this fiasco (thank you GWBush and the Federal Reserve) that half the world's oil producers are pushing strongly to stop using the Dollar as their reserve currency. If OPEC starts pricing oil in Euros in stead of Dollars, it is going to hit us hard. If the Chinese let their currency float as retaliation against us for devaluing the value of their loans to us, it's going to be devastating.
This Bailout was like throwing gasoline on the fire! It was exactly the worst possible thing to do to. Next Tuesday, you should vote against anyone who voted for this monster. You can find out how your Senators or Representative voted on the Bailout Vote Map at www.constituentresponse.com.

Funny how people have seemed to forgotten that the Democrats have been in control of the congress for the last 2 years...
Plenty of blame to go around on this one..

Their servers were farked earlier this morning. Now you'll have to give them an email address, and wait a few days before they get you a valid serial key. You can still download the dmgs.

If you want to count Joe Lieberman a Democrat, the Dems have barely been in control of Congress. I doubt most Dems would call him that. Moreover, with PResident Bush threatening to Veto every Bill that comes his way, not much that can be done.
