iPhone 2.2 adds App ratings upon deletion
As Apple prepares v2.2 of the iPhone operating system, a new screenshot indicates that the company is inserting a rating dialogue before users can delete an application from their device. Greek language site iPhone Hellas reports that attempting to delete an application directly from the device yields a popup window, offering the familiar five-star system, as well as a "No Thanks" button for users who are not interested in supplying feedback about the app.
The iPhone OS 2.2 was recently discovered to include directions for public transit in various cities, including schedules, walking directions to bus stops, and routes.

Rating
Surely if you're deleting a app, then thats the wrong time to ask for it to be rated. Isnt it almost always going to be a '1'?
@coldfusion
Absolutely right. Developers can expect their app store ratings to totally tank once this 'feature' goes live.
Not necessarily
I just deleted a bunch of applications from my iPhone. I just didn't use them enough. I wouldn't rate them as 1s, but I certainly wouldn't rate them as 4s or 5s.
:(
well.. sadly .. this is a ridiculous update... my app "Trippin" has been in the store for about a week and was hangin out at about 4.5 stars... then after the update it began dropping.. now at 3.5 stars... pretty lame.. people that like it have no way of saying so other than going to itunes and digging around for the app... while it's easy access for people who don't fancy a nice trip ..heh..
