QuickLicense 3.0 released

Excel Software has updated its QuickLicense utility, which allows developers to block access to their applications by unlicensed users. Version 3.0 adds language customization features, support for certain multimedia applications, and a new purchase and activation process with a "Try, Buy and Register" option.

Excel claims that its drag-and-drop license protection works with virtually any Mac or Windows application, written in any programming language. QuickLicense also ships with a tool called AddLicense, which wraps finished apps in a license without extra programming. An API is supplied for developers.

QuickLicense requires Mac OS X 10.1 or higher, and works with PowerPC or Intel Macs. The Windows version requires XP or Vista. The software costs $595 for single-platform support, or $995 in a Mac/Windows bundle.
