IntelliScanner releases barcode organizer for comics

IntelliScanner for comics


IntelliScanner has combined a barcode reader with special software aimed a helping comic book collectors organize their collections. Using a database of more than 250,000 comics, Comic Edition automatically downloads information on each item in a user's collection, including the title, date, author and cover art. The software includes support for the iPhone and online collection sharing.

Available for Mac and PC, Comic Edition allows users to scan the barcode of a comic book, and organize the data in a variety of ways. Included add-on software allows users to organize movies, music, books and games. Users can access and search their comic collections from an iPhone, or by creating a free personal website on the company's server.

Comic Edition comes with a barcode reader, comic book and media organizing software and a USB cable for about $130. The software requires Mac OS X 10.4 and higher, or WIndows XP or Vista.
