AVerMedia intros tuner

AVerMedia on Thursday introduced the AVerTV Hybrid TVBox 11, which offers users the ability to receive over-the-air HDTV signals, either analog or digital, as well as serving as a multimedia hub. It allows users to connect a host of high-definition source devices to their monitors or projectors, as well as their standard-definition TVs, and can turn their PC monitors into HDTVs thanks to its hybrid TV tuner. The TVBox 11 has an ATSC and Clear QAM digital cable tuner in addition to analog TV, enabling DVI and VGA monitors to display the content.

The device sports an S-video/component cable combo connection for analog sources, DVI input and output that supports resolutions as large as 1920x1200 as well as a VGA port for 1280x1024 images. Gaming systems can be easily connected to projectors and monitors.

AverMedia included a transparent picture-in-picture function that allows users to continue to work on their PCs while watching digital TV. Users can move the picture to anywhere on the screen, and size it at either a quarter, a ninth or a sixteenth of the size of the screen. Multitaskers have the option of previewing 13 channels simultaneously, and pausing live TV. Parental control is integrated, as is a closed captioning system.

The AVerTV Hybrid TVBox 11 is now available and priced at nearly $200.
