New Zealand Apple reseller shifts key location

New Zealand store moves

A New Zealand-based Apple reseller, MagnumMac, has recently purchased a new building for occupation. Construction has already begun on the new storefront, which will be located in the center of Auckland's Newmarket shopping district, on the corner of Broadway and Khyber Pass. The location will serve as a replacement to a previous site in Newton, for which the lease expires in December. Existing customers have raised some concerns about the area's bad parking, but are claimed to understand the appeal of such a high-profile location. MagnumMac says it hopes to model the Newmarket shop after Apple's successful US-based stores, where the customer experience is highest priority.

Apple fans in the Philippines are also welcoming a new reseller, which has been dubbed Switch. The company was founded by Ben Loo, who claims to want frustrated PC users to make the switch to Macs. The initial store will be located in Alabang Town Center, one of the country's premier shopping locations.

    Forget the parking...

maybe now they can look in to they customer service... or should I say LACK of.
As soon as you go near any of the demo macs on display in the store (both city and Albany) you get told not to touch and to leave them alone unless your going to buy it that second and don't even get me started on the after sales customer service... they have none!
After working in the graphics/design industry in Auckland for over 8 years I'm yet to find anyone with a good word to say about MagnumMac never mind a happy customer (including ex staff).

    Must be an Auckland thing

The Magnum Mac in Wellington seems to be pretty cool and they let you play with everything.

Parking is pretty non-existent though made worse by the redesign of the motorway.

I go there a lot even though I can get the stuff direct from Renaissance through work. Just like dealing with people I guess.

    NO PROBLEM PARKING...

...as it's situated within the rialto complex (167-169 Broadway, Newmarket, Auckland) who've got a huge multi-story carpark directly behind! don't forget the warehouse is just over the road (kinda!) not to mention half a mile of metered parking down both sides of broadway!

i drove by on sunday and just HAD TO STOP to have a peek thru a gap in the double glass doors, suffice to say WOOOOOOW, a 'true' apple store cometh ;-)

    wait and see...

    Boo magnum, yay Ubertec

Ubertec in Parnell is a much better shop, and the staff are much nicer too.
