Century Japan launches 4.3-inch USB LCD screen

updated 05:00 pm EDT, Fri October 10, 2008

Century Japan USB LCD

Century Japan has recently introduced a secondary LCD screen, the LCD-4300U, that is just 4.3 inches in size and connects entirely to users' desktop or notebook PCs via a USB 2.0 port. Meant as an add-on display for secondary programs such as an IM program, media player or toolbox, the 800x480 resolution display has a built-in and adjustable stand. Provided users have enough desk space and USB ports, Century Japan claims up to seven LCD-4300Us can be connected to a single PC or Intel-based Mac.

The LCD-4300U uses an LED backlight to achieve a brightness rating of 200cd/m2. The LCD will be available in Japan in mid-November, priced at the equivalent of nearly $200. No word has been given on whether the LCD is meant for North American consumption. [via Slashgear]

    OMG....why?

Why the h*** would you spent $200 on something that size that has no other utility value?

If you need a second screen at work or home then get a nice sized screen that actually gives you more value.

    For PC users

This is probably targeted at PC users, who just love to have their apps take up their whole screen, rather than tile a bunch of windows on their main screen...
