Moto VU30 and VU204 at VZW

Verizon today continued its phone launches with a pair of Motorla phones as well as a Bluetooth headset. The Rapture VU30 carries the partly touch-sensitive external display concept of the RAZR2 flip phone to a lower-cost device while sacrificing few of the features from the earlier designer phone; it too carries a two-megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth, assist-only GPS and a microSDHC slot for its storage. EVDO provides direct access to Verizon's online music store.

The Rapture is listed online today but should reach stores by October 14th, when it will sell for $130 after signing a full contract and earning a rebate. The clamshell will also be available for $300 without a contract.

A lower-cost alternative, the VU204 (not yet listed) will adopt the same form factor but use only 1X RTT, a standard external display and a VGA camera. Stereo Bluetooth and the pseudo-GPS service carry over from the Rapture to the VU204, which will sell for $30 on the same contract terms when it arrives on the 14th. Pricing without a plan isn't available.

The carrier also plans to stock the MOTOPURE H15, a Bluetooth earpiece with a unique flip shape and dual microphones to actively cancel out background noise. It ships slightly earlier and will be ready on October 8th for $100.
