Rogers and Fido introduce new iPhone plans
The end of September has brought an end to a Rogers/Fido iPhone offering of 6GB of data for $30 CAD, which is being replaced with two new subscription options. The revised plans are slightly different than rumored ones, and come at a cost of either $60 or $75 per month. On the $60 plan users will get 250 daytime minutes, 1GB of data, 75 sent text messages, Visual Voicemail, and unlimited evenings and weekends (9PM to 7AM on Rogers, 7PM to 8AM on Fido). Additionally, Fido customers get unlimited network calling and billing by the second.
The $75 plan includes 400 daytime minutes, 2GB of data, 100 sent text messages, Visual Voicemail, and unlimited evenings and weekends. Fido customers will also get unlimited network calling, unlimited long-distance network calling and billing by the second.
Rogers and Fido also offer two different Value Packs that can be added on top. The $15 pack includes call display, WhoCalled, 2,500 texts, Caller Ring Trax and 2,500 call-forwarding minutes. The $20 Pack has all of the same features, but ups the text message limit to 10,000, and adds 6PM early evenings for Rogers customers, and 5PM early evenings on Fido.

Confusion reigns...
...I don't know about others but the convolutions of the cell plans leave me at prepaid every time - easy, simple & inexpensive seem to defy the logic of the other 'plans' perhaps the MBA's might consider a move into the financial derivatives markets where their talents might be better spent...?
I agree
$75 a month for a huge number of daytime minutes and call display doesn't seem like very good deal to me, personally. That's a thousand dollars a year after tax. Good old Rogers, raping wallets since 1983.
Confusion and rip offs
All the Rogers/Fido plans are a confusing mix of features. I'll stick with pre-paid too.
The phone companies have somehow managed to brainwash the entire population into believing that text messages and data are somehow two different things. They aren't. Charging customers for SMS is the biggest rip off in the world.
Weak deal..
i urge people to negociate when they renew their contract.. Threaten to quit! I managed to get a good deal last month with Rogers: for about 60$, I get the 6 GB data plan, 250 daytime minutes, unlimited eve. and w-e after 6 PM, 2500 sent text message, Visual voicemail, call display, who called, etc.
Haha WEAK
I have 250 anytime minutes, free evenings at 6pm, free weekends, caller ID, call waiting, visual voicemail, 2500 text messages, and 6gb of data and I pay $70 per month on Rogers.
LAME
i agree with drkn_styles. I have a similar set up for way less...
REALLY LAME!
im good
Im paying about 95 bucks a month for Unlimited Incoming and Unlimited Out going calls (City Fido) and the 6GB data plan with all the bells and whistles such as 2500 txt messages, Auto, voice mail, who called, and so forth.
6GB/$30 plan extended
By the way everyone, the 6GB/$30 data plan has been quietly extended! If you visit a Rogers store or call on the phone, they can still put the 6GB data on your plan. It's been confirmed by members of my forum!
So go get your 6GB data plan if you haven't already!

Rogers = Filthy
Cheap bastards and crooks. Add to that a piece of shit network and 20cent/hour morons for phone tech support and you've got yourselves Rogers Canada.
Cheapskate
49 buck phone and prepaid. Let the cheeseheads keep Jobs and Ted Rogers at 40,000 feet in Grumman Gulfstreams.
