iTunes 8.0.1 update

Apple on Thursday released iTunes 8.0.1, an update for the company's media player that adds a number of bug fixes, performance enhancements, and functionality. The update advertises seamless playing of a current track when generating Genius playlists, as well as improved spoken menu synching for the new iPod nano. Also resolved was an issue related to in-progress HD TV downloads mysteriously deleting themselves, as well as problems syncing genius lists to an iPod.

iTunes 8.0.1 also improves update checking for iPhone apps, as well as general accessibility with VoiceOver.

iTunes 8.0.1 is currently only available through Software Update.

Fine on a Mac at 12:44 CDT.

By the way cima113, there will be no EST until Daylight Saving Time is over.

Sorry, but there is an EST. It is one hour earlier than EDT. You may not recognize it during EDT, but it does exist. And if you live in parts on the US, like Indiana, you observe EST year round.

And it's Mac, not MAC, as your subject read.

I've run both installation packages on Mac & PC... no errors generated.

cima113: Remove the existing Windows Installer from your system and get a fresh install of it via Windows Update (or Microsoft Update if you're using that) -- fixes a multitude of installation errors on a PC. Granted, it doesn't happen often, but that's the fix I've used for the past few years when it does happen. The Windows Installer is looking for a missing file that it needs to complete the installation.
