Apple set to announce Q4 results on October 21st

The results of Apple's fourth financial quarter -- which ended in September -- will be disclosed on October 21st, Apple has announced. The company will discuss figures in a conference call on that date, scheduled for 2PM Pacific time, or 5PM Eastern. Observers should be able to listen in through a QuickTime audio stream; a link should become available in advance.

The outcome of the quarter may prove to be crucial for Apple, which suffered a dramatic stock slide on Monday after warnings by analysts, and general economic concerns prompted by the US government's tenuous credit bailout. Some analysts continue to be pessimistic, while groups such as Piper Jaffray have maintained an optimistic view of Apple's recent and future sales propsects. Many analysts agree that the company is in a better position to push growth than most of its rivals.
