Fujitsu Life Book A1110
Fujitsu on Wednesday has launched interchangeable color panels for its newly released 15.4-inch LifeBook A1110, which let users customize and bring life to their notebook. Thus far, three standout colors are available apart from the standard black LCD cover, including patterned blue, pink and green colors. The covers are meant to snap on and off easily and repeatedly. Apart from the colorful covers, the A1110 also features a more functional removable dust filter that traps dust and larger particles before it enters the notebook and can be removed to facilitate its cleaning.
Apart from the new above details, the A1110 can be made to order with a choice of two 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo chips, the P7350 or P5800, set into the Centrino 2 mobile platform. The basic version gets 3GB of RAM and a 250GB hard disk drive, while opting for higher-end versions brings 4GB of RAM and a 320GB HDD. Operating system options include either 32- or 64-bit Windows Vista Home Premium.
In all of its guises, the notebook includes 802.11n Wi-Fi support, a webcam and a Bluetooth communications module. Three USB ports, an SD memory card slot, ExpressCard slot and a spill-proof keyboard are likewise common features to all three variations of the A1110. The 15.4-inch screen offers 1366x768 resolution.
The 6-cell battery life is rated at a low 2.5 hours of life by Fujitsu. Overall weight, including the DVD burner, is listed at 6.3lbs.
Pricing for the LifeBook A1110 starts at $799 and tops out at $1,099, while the lids cost $20 each and are currently available, with Fujitsu expected to offer more colors in the future, and possibly even spreading the option for other notebooks in its range.
