Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare available for download

Aspyr Media has released a downloadable version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, found exclusively at GameAgent.com, the company's new online store. It will also ship to retail outlets this week. The first-person shooter follows new, fictional story lines with multiple plot twists, and the game's special effects stress photorealism, using new depth-of-field and shading effects.

CoD4 also features a multiplayer mode, with a leveling system, hot-join and matchmaking capabilities, as well as party and class play for a variety of multiplayer skill levels. Perks can be unlocked, and there are said to be over 100 challenges, numerous new environments and 29 modes.

The game requires Mac OS X 10.5.4 or later, a 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 1GB RAM and a minimum of a Radeon X1600 or GeForce FX 7300 video card. A 2.4GHz CPU and 256MB of VRAM are recommended. Call of Duty 4 can be downloaded now for $55.
