ORACOM intros haptic W30

Korea's ORACOM on Thursday announced it will soon launch a digital music player, the W30, that features a haptic user interface for its 240x400, 3-inch touchscreen. Like in the Samsung Instinct cellphone and numerous other devices, a haptic interface simulates pressing a real button when users press a virtual key on the touchscreen, often making a sound and vibrating the device via a built-in gyroscope.

Apart from the PMP-first haptic touch feature, the W30 has 4GB of built-in memory for storing multimedia files, while a DMB TV tuner and built-in FM tuner provide alternate entertainment options. An integrated dictionary will help with translation or asking for basic directions or needs when abroad.

In its home market of Korea, the W30 is expected to be priced at the equivalent of about $180.
