VMX Office Bluetooth headset aims at workers

VMX Office BT headset

Sennheiser on Tuesday announced the unveiling of its newest Bluetooth headset, the VMX Office, meant for workers. The folding headset has one button for volume control, answering and ending calls and switching between connected devices. Users have the option of connecting to landlines thanks to an included base station or wirelessly to any Bluetooth profile 1.0- through 2.0-compatible device.

The device holds software to detect sudden surges in volume and other high-pitched noises to protect users' ears, while the VoiceMax feature filters out ambient noise and improves the user's own speech. While similar to Sennheiser's VMX 100 headset, the VMX Office offers more flexibility and options, including the ability to sync with VoIP programs and services on computers.

To make the most of battery life, Sennheiser equipped the VMX Office with an automatic switch that shuts off power when the device is folded closed, and powers the device up when it is opened.

The device will be released in September, although prices have not been announced.
