Spellex ships MacMedica spellchecker

Spellex has announced MacMedica, a medical and pharmaceutical spellchecker for Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac. The software verifies the spelling of medical terminology, and provides various options whenever a mistake is detected. It works side-by-side with the Standard English dictionary, allowing a user to search both concurrently.

MacMedica includes terms from 35 medical specialties, including anesthesiology, cardiology, immunology, neurology, nursing, ophthalmology and more. It covers medical procedures, diseases, surgical terms, genetic research, medical slang and thousands of drug names. MacMedica requires Office 2008 for Mac, and costs $80 for the basic medical version, or $130 with pharmaceutical terms. Multi-user and educational discounts are available.
