Sonicfire Pro 5 ships
SmartSound says it has released Sonicfire Pro 5, the latest version of its audio production software, geared toward pairing soundtracks with video. The upgrade includes enhancements to the Mood Mapping feature, which now allows users to drag a beat to various points in a video, without affecting the rhythm or length of a soundtrack. Users can also adjust the tempo of tracks while retaining customization options.
The software additionally introduces the Spotting option, which takes points in a video marked for musical emphasis and recommends appropriate music, with options needed to integrate it. The company has finally added Sensory Searching, which relies on music preferences to filter through a library.
Sonicfire Pro is being sold in two editions: the Express Track provides basic functionality, while the Scoring Edition is needed to access the timeline, Mood Mapping and Spotting tools. The former is free with music discs, while the latter is $150. SmartSound has simultaneously released six Strata Series library discs, including Adrenaline Rush, Energy Zone and Downtown Mix. The titles are $50 individually or $250 together.
