Flutter mimics MMS support for iPhone

updated 12:30 pm EDT, Mon September 15, 2008

Flutter offers mock MMS

A new iPhone application has been released that attempts to mimic a missing feature from the device, MMS. Flutter is a free app that provides an alternative to e-mail for sending picture messages to other cellphones. The software works by attaching a picture to a webpage, then sending the recipient a text message with the appropriate link. Images can be sourced either from a user's iPhone album, or captured without leaving Flutter.

The app also features location support, and provides recipients with a link to a Google map that shows where a picture was taken. Flutter is being distributed through the App Store.

    If it would work

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work. I was not able to create an account. I simply don't get the SMS they are supposed to send. And yes, I checked my phone number.
