Dell Z530 Leak
British online retailer Tesco today unintentionally slipped details of the Dell Inspiron Z530. The portable appears to be the final version of the E Slim netbook leaked earlier in the year and would sit considerably above the Inspiron Mini 9 in terms of performance. Beyond the larger display, which outputs at at a much sharper 1366x768 resolution, the system would switch to a 40GB hard drive instead of the 16GB flash-based maximum of the Mini and would carry 1GB of RAM as a minimum.
Unusually, the posting suggests that the 12-inch model would scale back to a 1.33GHz Atom processor instead of the 1.6GHz chip in the smaller system; it's uncertain whether this is an error or an indication of a move by Dell to lower the final price of the system. Ubuntu Linux would come preloaded on the system and would further drop the price as well as promise that it runs well for the relative performance of the system.
If representing a final product, the Tesco entry would point to the new Inspiron shipping the week of October 6th with a UK price of £299 ($530). Dell hasn't confirmed the existence of the netbook. [via Engadget]
