Lightsaber Unleashed adds official Star Wars content
TheMacBox, developers of PhoneSaber, has announced the impending return of the gadget app under the name Lightsaber Unleashed, featuring characters and more from the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Unleashed video game. The app displays a virtual lightsaber that makes noises mimicking the motions of the weapon from the Star Wars film. The app was pulled from iTunes after THQ Wireless spoke with TheMacBox about copyright, and the potential of a branded app in its place.
The blog posting reveals that Lightsaber Unleashed will feature the sabers of several of the console game's characters, such as General Rahm Kota and Darth Vader. Lightsaber Unleashed also boasts improved graphics and sound effects, as well as optional dueling music.
TheMacBox mentioned that the app will remain free, and will be available soon.

But a farting app is not?
Oh please!
How incredibly, incredibly, incredibly lame.
Colors
So the options are now red, green, or cyan? What about Mace Windu purple, or the extra colors?
Still free!
The app is still free and people complain. If you don't like it than don't download it. You don't have to badmouth it.
ok...
Listen lamebrain, like it or not, THQ is the rights holder. It's their property. That's how things work. Maybe your sorry ass whine about 'commercialism' would be halfway ok if they pulled the app and it came back for a fee. But it didn't. So, it's just another sorry ass whine from a world full of whiners.
Now with extra ugly!
Wow, those are some ugly looking buttons! I'm not complaining about the character pictures per se, or the added features--just the design. Licensed or not, the original app was much easier on the eyes. I wonder if this update will be a "Forced" upgrade. (For those that use the "update all" button, this might be linked as an upgrade to the prior app.)
fight!
what would really be cool is if they had the sword tilt with the motion sensor and you could fight another character that way too.
point?
Is there a point to this app? It sounds like all it does is put a picture of a light saber on your iPhone/Touch, and makes noises when you move it.
Is that really what it does?
