GETAC tablet

GETAC has launched its latest rugged notebook/tablet, the V100. An optional LED backlit display achieves a brightness of 1200 nits (candelas per square meter) and uses anti-reflective technology to reduce glare for easy viewing in direct sunlight, all without sacrificing battery life, according to GETAC. The V100 can be used as a notebook or tablet, with full 180 degree rotation of the screen. Following the tradition of other GETAC products, the V100 is MIL-STD810F and IP54 compliant for protection against water, dust, and shock.

The magnesium allow notebook case is protected by rubber to prevent shock damage, with special mounting for the removable hard drive. With an optional drive heater and special battery, the V100 will operate in temperatures down to -20˚C, GETAC claims.

A range of specific setups are available, offering an Intel Core 2 Duo 1.2GHz processor, up to 2GB of DRAM, 250GB hard drive, Bluetooth, waterproof camera, and a 10.4 inch screen. Other options include a 12 inch screen, GPS integration, or 3G and 802.11a/b/g support.

Available operating systems include Windows Vista Business, Windows XP Pro, or XP Tablet PC 2005. Customers must contact GETAC for pricing and availability details.
