iLovePhotos utilizes facial detection to sort photos

iLovePhotos reaches beta

Blue Lava has announced a new photo organizing app that relies on facial recognition technology. As users import pictures, iLovePhotos automatically detects the faces of the individuals in each picture; this allows users to then filter their library to show only photos of specific people. As users tag subjects, the app also begins to pull information from Address Book, relying on this to set up automatic sharing feeds. Photos can thus be set to upload automatically, and trigger e-mail notices with links.

Other features include an automatic slideshow generator, which builds slideshows based on how often people appear in photos, who they appear next to most frequently, and other attributes. The slideshows can then be embedded online or watched on an iPod, iPhone or Apple TV.

The software is currently in a private beta stage, but people may register for their chance to test it out.

    Why iLovePhotos?

    Hi,

Thank you for your comments and feedback.

The main difference between Picasa Web Albums, MyHeritage, and iLovephotos, is that with iLovePhotos you tag the people in your photos on your HARD DRIVE first, then upload them where the connections between the people in your photos are made automatically. This way the work you do tagging is not lost, and you have the power to filter your library around specific people.

    Cheers,

    Damian
