Apple set to launch three Swiss retail stores

updated 09:30 am EDT, Thu September 4, 2008

Three Swiss Apple Stores

Apple is expected to open three new retail stores in Switzerland by the end of the year, multiple sources say. One shop is the Rue de Rive location, Geneva's first Apple Store, which recently had the words "bientôt ouvert" (opening soon) added to its black construction facade (photo below). Workers are said to have already begun training, and it is believed that the store could effectively be ready to go by the middle of the month, though when exactly it will open is a matter of speculation.

The company's second Zurich store is set to open at the Glattzentrum shopping center in the northeast part of the city, and while a facade is in place, a photo taken through an opening indicates that the stone floor has been built, along with rudiments of other details like the Genius Bar.

A third Zurich store is believed to be coming to Bahnhofstrasse, potentially before the end of 2008, but even the store's existence remains unconfirmed.
