There.com virtual world adds Mac support
Virtual world site There.com has announced support for Mac OS X, a new report says. The service is similar in theme to Second Life, allowing users to wander a 3D environment with an avatar, talk with other people, and participate in an internal economy. Unlike its rival however, There is aimed primarily at teenagers, and requires any objects created to be sanctioned by its developer.
The company has also revealed a profile extension for Facebook called Facing There, and ThereIM, a utility which lets people communicate with There participants without having to appear in the 3D world. A date for the implementation of Mac support has not been published.
