Sapphire Plug-ins for Open

Visual effects plug-in maker GenArts has released an OpenFX version of its Sapphire Plug-ins, making them available to users of The Foundry's Nuke, Autodesk Toxik, Eyeon Fusion, FilmLight Baselight, Digital Vision FIlm Master and Assimilate Scratch. Sapphire Plug-ins are well-known in the post-production community, providing visual effects for Apple, Adobe and Avid creative software. The addition of OFX expands the market considerably.

There are about 175 plug-ins in the Saphire collection, enabling editors to create visual effects including "Edge Blur" "LensFlares" and "Lightning." The 2D effects have been used in a number of feature films, including Spider Man and Titanic.

Sapphire OFX Plug-ins for Nuke, Toxik, and Fusion range in price from $300 to $2000, depending on license options. Sapphire plug-ins for Baselight, Film Master, and Scratch cost between $500 and $5000.
