LightWayText, iText boosts
LightWayText 4.1.7 has been upgraded with Leopard support and other bugfixes, as have its cousins iText 3.1.7 and iText Express 3.1. A new version of iText, iText Pro '08, has meanwhile been introduced with customizable features, Styled Text file support, and multiple clipboards.
All four text editors offer multiple language support; iText begins with support for PICT files and RTF capabilities, while iText Express adds Word compatibility and hyperlink support. Both are freeware. The new iText Pro '08 adds customization of templates, toolbars and keyboard shortcuts, hierarchical bookmarks, and the aforementioned multiple clipboards and Styled Text. It sells for $15.
LightWayText has cross-platform abilities, with one license allowing for both Mac and PC installation, and supports PICT, JPEG, RTF, Unicode UTF8 and UTF16. It further supports numerous languages, including English, Japanese, Greek, Hebrew, Turkish and Arabic. It is available for $25.

You will not regret it!
It is fast, smooth and capable.
And the manual is in Japanese! :)
Not that you'll need it, honestly it is just terrific, the best word processor for Mac out there. It doesn't have everything, just 95% of what you want without all the crud you don't.
