IOGEAR Net ShareStation

Connection accessories maker IOGEAR on Tuesday announced it will debut its DVI Net ShareStation device at the CEDIA Expo which kicks off on Wednesday. The DVI Net ShareStation lets up to six users share one monitor via a connected Ethernet network. It connects to a host monitor via an included DVI / VGA adapter on one end along with an Ethernet network jack on the other. The device supports resolutions of up to 1600x1200 pixels.

In addition to its primary use, the DVI Net ShareStation allows users to connect a secondary display to their system via a USB connection. The company has not announced which specific operating systems the DVI Net ShareStation will support, although at least Windows support is likely.

At the same time, Iogear showed off its Powerline Stereo Audio System, which uses a home's powerlines to stream music throughout the household. Comprised of a docking station that can play content stored on CDs, cell phones, iPods and MP3 players and a receiver, the system can stream lossless audio up to 990 feet away. The receiver needs to be connected to an independently powered speaker in order to perform this feat, Iomega says, but other details pertaining to the system's operation are scarce.

The DVI ShareStation is now available for purchase, priced at nearly $200, while the Powerline Stereo Audio System is priced at $380.
