MathMagic 5.8 adds QuarkXPress 8 support

updated 04:45 pm EDT, Mon August 25, 2008

MathMagic 5.8 ships

InfoLogic says it has released v5.8 of MathMagic, its equation-editing software for the Mac, intended for teachers, researchers and students. The software comes with numerous symbols and templates, and produces files in formats such as JPEG, PDF, EPS and TeX. The update allows the Pro Edition of the software to create and edit equations within the QuarkXPress 8 graphics suite, bypassing any need to import MathMagic files later.

The software can now additionally import, export, and copy and paste LaTeX content, and open multiple math tags when importing MathML files. PICT images are now more customizable, and characters from European or non-7-bit ASCII sets are more accurately displayed. Prices for the Pro Editions of MathMagic are at least $199, while the Personal Edition is $30; all versions require Mac OS X 10.3.
