O2 iPhone shortage

O2 UK revealed today that its online stock of the iPhone 3G has run out for users in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.. This is not the first time this has happened to O2, when pre-orders were first offered, stock ran out in only a few hours, despite the company's efforts to meet demands. Replying to that situation, O2 Sales Director, Steve Shurrock said that the supply problem was because of the simultaneous launch in 22 countries. He also states that O2 is "confident that over time we will start to get sufficient volume to meet demand," yet the online store continues to run short on stock.

O2 says that it will continue to keep its availability page up-to-date. It will provide a list of O2 retail stores, Carphone Warehouses and Apple stores around the United Kingdom.

I live in Italy, ordered 3 iPhones (black 16Gb) at the end of July from the 2 different providers (Vodafone and Tim) and they all said they've no stock..

And all I can read here is about buyers in "England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.. "?

The only lucky thing around here is TESTUDO is on vacations!
Why internal "editors" here don't do a report about that?
