New iPhone ads highlight Apple's App Store
Apple on Friday posted three new iPhone/iPod TV ads featuring the the company's App Store. After launching several new "Get a Mac" ads earlier this week, the company has posted QuickTime versions of its "Lonely Planet," "Cro Mag," and "Vicinity" spots, which began airing on television. The new ads, told in the typical Apple third-party narrative style, highlighting the third-party software support added in the recent iPhone 2.0 update: "This is how you enter the App Store; And this is how you browse 1000 new apps; And this is how you download one--right to your phone... And this is when you realize, this is going to change everything." The credits close highlighting the AT&T 3G Network ("the fastest 3G network") and fade off with the familiar Apple logo.
"Lonely Planet" features the popular travel guide and its instant translation database, while "Cro Mag" features Pangea's Cro-Mag game that leverages the built-in accelerometer for its popular racing game and "Vicinity" touts easy download of an application for locating nearby attractions, restaurants, etc. using the built-in location functions.

And this is when you realize that your phone will crash over and over and over again once you start putting the apps on your phone...
I'm guessing THAT aspect of the App experience won't make it into an add.

If an app is crashing, delete from iPhone. Re-sync with iTunes. Easy Fixed. Unlike other applications that can hose your Palms/BB/WinMo. iPhone apps cannot violate the OS and is easily fixed.

You guys (slappy/coldfusion) write your posts as if you know what I have or haven't done to take care of this phone. I restore DAILY. I re-download the apps WEEKLY. Today I deleted iTunes, the iPHone software, printed out a list of all my apps so I don't forget any, and HOPE that it will fix this issue. However, since I am now in hour 3 of backing up the phone, I don't have high hopes. Yesterday the apps just stoped working, except the iPhone default ones. Tried to delete one via the phone to re-install it and the phone reset and then hung for the umpteenth time at the black startup screen.
Please note this is a totally legit, 2.02 installed, nothing unusual done to my phone or iTunes, iPhone. I've been using Apple products for 20 years, and had an iPhone since they launched. This isn't rookie floundering. There is something wrong with this e-ecosystem.
So, yea, here's my other question, smartass... why doesn't my phone work as advertised on these ads? Where's the ad showing how checking the weather using Weatherbug can result in a phone-killing crash? Where's the shots of someone browsing Apple's iphone support boards reading through thread after thread of users with phones not functioning correctly as an OS or even as a phone.
Sorry Slappy, my iPhone OS gets violated more than... well, rather than going for a sex reference I'll say traffic laws during a disaster flick.

Odd, apparently the iphone apps cannot violate the OS (whatever the hell that means) but they can crash your phone. Isn't crashing your phone violating the OS?

These complaints about restoring daily is just a bunch of bs If your wiped your iphone clean and restored it will be fine. Return it if you can't figure out how to use it properly. Which seems to be the case with jmelrose and his daily restore b.s.

Of all people you should know what that means. The app crashes, the OS is still running fine. Think and use your brain before commenting please.
