RapidWeaver new release

Realmac Software today announced the release of RapidWeaver v4.1, the latest version of its website creation software. New features include Quick Look Previews of saved projects, automatic image resizing for images dragged into text areas, improved MobileMe publishing, and bug fixes. RapidWeaver was designed for users to create anything from small, simple sites, to complete, in-depth business sites. Templates are based on XHTML or CSS, and the code generated is standards-compliant.

Over 40 themes are included, with various choices for layout or color. Third party themes are also available, organized with folder support and flexible grouping. Themes can also be modified or created from scratch with the help of an available developers kit. Sites can be published to .Mac, FTP, SFTP, or the desktop. When changes are made, only the modified files are uploaded.

RapidWeaver works with Linux, Windows, and Mac based servers for hosting. Users have the option of switching between rich text editing and html mark-up. Unlimited pages can be added to sub menus, allowing flexibility in content organization.

Most popular coding languages can be used to create or modify content. Users familiar with PHP can hand-code content or the whole site, with a rendering available for preview. A Plugin SDK is available for Cocoa developers, or a Theme SDK for web developers. RapidWeaver 4.1 is available from Realmac Software for a 30 day free trial or $80 for the full version. Users of v3.5 or older can upgrade for $30.
