ShotPut adds P2 support

Imagine says it has released ShotPut P2, a new variation of its ShotPut software. Following the launch of RED and XDCamHD editions, the new software is specially geared towards Panasonic's P2 storage cards, from which it offloads video faster than would be possible through Finder. This is helped by multithreading, which allows up to three simultaneous copies.

Users can pick between manual and automatic modes, with options for automatically naming output folders, and reformatting a P2 card as soon as it is ready. Logs can be kept of the size, date and location of transferred files, and checks are performed to prevent the corruption or overwriting of content. In case of necessity, finally, any mountable volume can be read. The software costs $49, and requires Mac OS X 10.4 along with 16GB of hard drive space.
