Axiom in wall speakers

Axiom Audio today announced its new T2 loudspeakers. The T2 utilize the same technology found in the M2 bookshelf units but are designed to be mounted in the wall. The speaker dimensions are only 11.65" x 6.4" with just 5/8" rising out from the wall surface. Four grille covers are offered including white, black, silver, or a paintable version that includes a special jig so only the edges of the speaker can be seen.

Sound is produced with a 1" titanium tweeter and 5.25" aluminum woofer. Sound pressure levels of 86 dB (anechoic) and 90 dB (in-room) are claimed by Axiom, with a frequency response of 22Hz to 70kHz. The T2 is equipped with a built-in clamping mechanism for a solid mount to the wall or ceiling. The speakers are video shielded and utilize 5-way gold plated binding posts.

The T2 is the first offering in a line that will eventually complete a 5 speaker system including a T150 center channel and T80 tower, both begin shipping September 1. The T2 speakers are priced at $450 and available from Axiom.
